Notion Book Tracker Shortcuts Pack: Automate Reading Logs & Capture Notes Fast
This kit includes 4 shortcuts for managing books in Notion:
Add Book to Notion
With the help of Google Books API, this shortcut allows you to create a new page for a new book with some metadata, like: author, published date, publisher, page count and genre.
Not only that, the shortcut can add each book with the new book template that contain premade headings for notes sections.
Append Book Note
The purpose of this shortcut is to capture a piece of text spoken or written in your own words and add append it to the page of the book you’re currently reading. Your notes can be dictated or typed out. This shortcut shows a filtered list of book pages to choose from.
Append Book Quote
The purpose of this shortcut is the same as in previous one. Except, this time the shortcut allows you to select and copy a quote directly from a digital of physical book. If it’s a digital book, you can simply select text in Apple Books or Kindle and copy it to clipboard. Then, you need to run the shortcut to add the quote formatted as a quote block to the book’s page. If it’s a physical book, the shortcut uses Live Text feature to take a picture a book page and copy the text from the image.
Get Random Book Quote
The beauty of this shortcut is that it is the one in this kit, that you won’t need to run as it will be run in an Automation. It’s main idea is to show you a random book quote you saved previously in a notification at a certain time of the day. This will help you not only to store information but to retain it with ease.
